What are escape rooms and what do I need to do?

 

Escape rooms are fictionally themed rooms that involve a group of players working together to solve a variety of mind-boggling clues and puzzles. Each team has 60 minutes to work their way through the room and 'escape'.

 

The themes/stories of these rooms can vary.

 

What times are you open?

 

Our opening hours are:

Mon - Tues:   Closed

Wed - Fri:      12.00 - 19.00      

Sat & Sun:      11.00 - 22.00

If you require an alternative time slot, please fill out our enquiry form or contact us by phone. We are happy to accommodate you as best as possible. No harm in asking right?

Is there a maximum amount of people we can have in the room?

 

Yes. Our rooms are designed for 2-8 people only, and team size varies from game to game. We can accommodate larger groups (max. 14 people) at the location but this needs to be arranged before hand and the group will be split to take turns. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Who will be in the room?

 

Just you and your team. At Pressure Point Escape Rooms, we believe that the experience should be personal to you, even if you are a group of 2.

There are currently NO live actors at Pressure Point Escape Rooms.

What time should I get there?

 

Please arrive at the time you have booked for. No more than 5 minutes before your allotted time please. We used to request you arrive 15 minutes before your start time, however we have now changed this. There is a short introduction to the room that is necessary before your game begins. If you are more than 10 minutes late, this could affect your playing time in the room. Please ensure everyone in the team arrives on time.

*If you are booked for a Saturday or evening slot, please ensure the whole team allows extra time for travelling. It is sometimes a challenge to find a parking space at certain hours so you must allow extra time for this.

How long does it take?

 

The entire experience will last approximately 90 minutes. This includes an introduction, 60 minutes in the room, and debrief afterwards. 

 

What do I do if I am running late?

We love communication, so please call us if you are not going to make it on time. We can allow a small grace period, however, if you are going to be more than 10 minutes late, this will affect your time in the room, or you may not be able to play. Please note: We do not give a refund if you are late and your game has to be shortened or cancelled.

How old must I be to play?

 

Players must be 12 years+

If you are under 18 you must be accompanied by at least one paying adult.

Our rooms are designed for adults. Whilst some young people do extremely well in our rooms, an adult can sometimes helps to keep young groups focused.

Please accept rooms as being age appropriate unless a room specifically states otherwise.

 

Can I take pictures or videos?

 

No. Please do not take pictures or record videos when playing your game. We do not want our game secrets to be shared as this may ruin other people's experiences. If you do take pictures or record a video you will be asked to delete them immediately. If you do not delete them, you will be asked to leave.

Don't worry, there will be a photograph taken of your team at the end of the game that will be uploaded to Facebook/Twitter within 72 hours so you can remember your experience.

We kindly request that you do not give away any of the clues or puzzles to friends, family, work colleagues etc. Remember…they may want to play the game one day and it is never as much fun if you have cheated.

What if I cannot work out the clues?

 

Don’t worry too much! We will give you 3 hints throughout your game for those really tricky moments where you just want to tear your hair out!

 

I am worried about playing…

 

Unless stated by us, our rooms are not scary, nor are they designed to be. However, our rooms are designed to give the player a sense of suspense. This makes the game more dramatic and much more fun!

You are likely to experience mild stress because the clock never stops ticking and desperation and panic will kick in if you cut it too fine for time.

Please note: Our rooms are not locked. If you need to leave to go to the toilet or you need a short break, you are free to leave. However, please be aware that the clock will continue to count down.

 

I am pregnant, can I still play?

 

Providing you are not in labour, yes! There is nothing in our rooms that is physically exerting or requires heavy lifting. We do provide seats in our rooms and our welcome room is only a couple of steps away. We do provide complimentary water and we have our own toilets should you require them. 

Please note: Our premises are up a staircase to the first floor.

I have a physical medical issue, can I still play?

 

Our rooms do not require any heavy lifting or major physical exertion. You may have to bend down or kneel down to unlock a puzzle. Be aware that due to the nature of the activity, you are likely to do things quite quickly which may be tiresome for some. If you are unsure, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this area further for your peace of mind.

I have claustrophobia/anxiety, can I still play?

 

Our rooms are not dark and have plenty of space to move around in. Please remember that the door is NOT locked and you are free to leave at any time. We are more than happy to show you the room before you book your time slot to help you decide if you are comfortable playing.
